Stripper-to-Stripper Etiquette

I decided to write a blog for my fellow strippers, new or seasoned, about stripper etiquette. Chances are if you’ve been dancing for a while you accidentally pissed off another dancer as a newbie by breaking some unwritten stripper rule.

1. Don’t talk to another dancer while she’s talking to a customer. Chances are you’re ruining the vibe and her chances of selling a dance, because it takes his attention off of her. Plus, the customer doesn’t care about the personal stuff you guys talk about. It’s especially not ok if you come up and rub his shoulders or sit in his lap, even if you were talking with him earlier.

2. Don’t do pole tricks if your pussy can touch the pole. Just don’t do it.

3. Never pull customers away from the stage when another girl is dancing. If it was his idea, and he wants a dance right now, at least tell him to leave a dollar or two for the girl on stage. Otherwise, wait until the end of her set.

4. If a dancer helps you with your hair or makeup, tip her a few dollars for the time she could have spent on the floor selling dances.

5. If you borrow something, make sure you give it back in the condition it was given to you.

6. Never ask another girl how much she’s made. It’s just as rude as asking someone how much they make at any other job. A semi-acceptable substitute for “How much have you made tonight?” is “Did you have a decent night?”

7. Crop-dusting a shitty tipper is not nice.

8. Don’t do or promise extras. It ruins everyone’s money, not to mention it’s really gross and you’re putting everyone’s job at risk.

9. Your drug problem is not my drug problem. I don’t want to hear about it.

10. Don’t steal.

11. Lock up your fucking cell phone (or anything valuable) instead of accusing other people when it goes missing.

12. Drunk is not sexy.

13. Don’t beg rides off of people. Call a cab, or find someone that is willing to drive you to and from work every day.

14. Don’t throw a tantrum when one girl sells a champagne room and you can’t/don’t/are unwilling to put the work in to sell one yourself.

15. Unless a girl has made it clear that she doesn’t mind you touching her (at stage or otherwise), don’t.

16. Do not, under any circumstances, badmouth the other dancers, regardless of whether they do extras, have cellulite, are ugly, rude, etc. It just makes you look bad to the customer.

17. Get to your stage on time. If you don’t, you’re not only being disrespectful to the DJ, but also the next couple dancers and the management. It ruins the next dancer’s chance of touching up her makeup or deodorant or changing before her next stage.
